I like this coat quite a bit. It is waterproof and warm, so ideal for Seattle weather. The only thing that holds it back from a 5 star review is the pocket situation. My ideal coat has at least 1 internal pocket with space for keys, wallet, or phone. This jacket only has the 2 external pockets. It's a very well made coat. By women for women with a nice tail and flair for a windbreaker coat. Very well sealed zippers that keep out wind and air. The only thing I dislike is the outer material feel. It's very rough than smooth and seems to attract lint and feathers from my downfill coat in the closet. Order a size up if you want some space for thick sweaters or what not.I absolutely love this coat. It’s warm, fits well, and protects from rain/snow/drizzle. My only issue that I’ve had is that the stitching is coming out at the bottom of the zipper but that’s an easy fix. Other than that no issues. There are a few style features on this coat that are not common on others: snaps at the back of the waist to adjust the width; a snap in the rear split at the hem to open or close; really nice plaid lining of inner jacket, and with a high/low rounded shirt-style hem; embroidered logo; faux (unvented) storm patch on both sides of chest. It all makes for a less than ordinary zippered rain trench hybrid. This is very comfortable to wear, doubled layered or each on its own. For fit reference I ordered the medium for me at 36/31/41, and 5'2" tall. It's a tad loose but perfect for wearing thicker, warmer layers underneath without feeling restricted. The inner jacket zippers nicely to the outer jacket, but there is no way to secure the sleeves at the cuffs to each other to prevent one twisting inside the other. The inner jacket is ribbed at the cuffs while the outer jacket has velcro closures to adjust for weather as needed. Both layers are very lightweight. There is very low profile fill inside the inner orange jacket. It has diagonal square quilting and the plaid lining is attractive. The outer black layer is lined, even inside the hood which has a toggled drawstring. The zipper on the black jacket is rubberized all the way up the length to prevent water getting in. The pocket flaps cover zippers that keep everything nice and dry, however it's a bit awkward to easily put your hands inside because the flap is sewn down on one side.I tested the water resistance of the black jacket and droplets will bead up for the most part. Some fatter drops that were thrown on penetrated the fabric just at the edges. So this is good for light rain, but I wouldn't expect it would keep me completely dry during a prolonged downpour or sitting on wet bleachers watching my kids play sports in the rain.I like it as it's an attractive longline profile and it's breathable and warm without being heavy. It's offers light protection but isn't a high tech weatherproof jacket, which you would typically pay a lot more for. Best of all, orange and black are my teen son's high school colors so I'm ready to cheer from the stand in this. Just please don't rain too heavily!Good length and goes to the knee or a little above. Has a hood, pockets and a soft thermal inner lining that will keep you nice and warm. Outer material feels like it repels water easily and is good for activities in all the elements. Inner lining has an attractive plaid-like design and the outer material is on the lightweight side- the coat is water and wind repellent. Love everything about the coat except when the coat is taken on/off sometimes the inner sleeves go inside out which I found to be a minor pain. Other than that it's a very good good coat for all/most seasons that's worth the investment.Just by touching this coat you know it is water and wind proof. It isn't a heavy jacket but it does keep you dry and warm. It hit just over my ankles so it wasn't too long for me to wear. It also has deep pockets in the front to keep your hands warm.
