Easy to sync up to listen to tunes anywhere. Good quality sound.I was amazed the first time I shopped for Bluetooth speakers. The prices seemed totally disconnected from reality. “Mid-range” speakers had price tags in the $100-200 range. At that price, I’m expecting sound like a good quality bookshelf/desktop speaker. What I found wasn’t even close.This unit, especially at the refurb pricing, is a good deal. The sound quality is comparable to an old-school boom-box, and it’s handled several uses in the shower without any issues. (The downloadable app for a smartphone is useful here; it allows you to adjust the response curve so you can still get room-like sound in the horrible acoustics of a tile shower)I don’t see myself buying a second one, it’s just something I use occasionally and even if the pairing is as simple and reliable as the maker claims, it’s just a lot of work for something of pretty dubious benefit. If you need two speakers and stereo, wireless is probably more trouble than it’s worth - and reading other reviews here makes me think that’s probably an optimistic take.TL;DR: Good sound, easy to use, doesn’t mind rough handling, not a big fan of the volume control styling, people think it’s a company logo or something and keep looking around for normal buttons.Very simple, straightforward speaker, and louder than I expected it to be.I bought two of these refurbished - so no instructions, just a speaker and a USB cable. It was easy enough to find pairing instructions online. One of the speakers dropped audio and was a bit crackly, but the other (so far) has been working flawlessly.- There is an embedded battery for recharging with the included USB cable- Four buttons built into the device that don't really look like buttons; two on each of the front/back. The back has the power button and the Bluetooth pairing button, which is used for setting the device in pair mode so you can connect to it, as well as "doubling up" if you have two.The front "+" and "-" that look like a funky design are actually buttons and control the volume.It's nice to have a rechargeable speaker I can take anywhere, and the shock/waterproof aspect is nice since there are kids around.This little portable speaker has great sound and has durable design. I showed it to my daughter and she wanted one too, I like to round design and the strap on the back works great for mounting it to places. As I said, the sound is great, not perfect, but this is a portable speaker, you don't get perfect HiFi, but you can get great sound in a small package. I have had a number of speakers over the years and pound for pound, this little speaker is my favorite. I take it everywhere and use it all the time. Battery life is awesome and I never run low. They came out with an updated version and I am sure that it is also a great speaker, I would love to try to bigger versions from UE. While they are less portable, they sound awesome as well. One more thing, the app is a nice feature. It has an equalizer and the ability to turn the speaker on and off remotely, Those are both features most speaker don't come with and I appreciate them.This is by far the best Bluetooth speaker I have owned. It has a great design, very solid feel, and puts out some monster sound for a little device. I learned about this product when my neighbor, a concert pyrotechnics tech, was doing yardwork two houses away with one clipped to his belt. When the lawn mower would stop rumbling, I heard crystal clear sound of whatever he was listening to.I immediately picked one up and have not regretted it yet. The ability to strap it to various items with the included tether is extremely helpful and makes it a convenient companion device to anything you're doing. Battery life is pretty decent. When used with the US Roll app you are given a whole lot more customization of sound and experience from pairing up more than one and even a Block Party mode to let any of your friends take over and play DJ.I am sure I will get more of these at some point to be used at once or in various places. Highly recommended.I use my ROLL all the time. I put it by my bed, strap it to the cabinets while cooking, and take it to the shower to finish whatever podcast I might be listening to. It sounds great with surprisingly deep bass, and you really can submerge it in water. I dropped it in a hot tub this Thanksgiving, and once the water drains out of the webbing a few seconds later, it sounds perfect again. It really takes a lickin' and keep on tickin'. I kind of wish the battery life was a better because I take it all over the place, so it's a bummer to have to go charge it. It wants to live on the go! Still, I can't recommend it enough. It's small, the bungee cord allows it to hang almost anywhere, and the design is unique and fun.I work in the music industry and consider myself an audiophile. I admit, I had never heard of UE until some friends recommended it. They were right. The mids and lows were nice and deep and balanced well with the highs. Also great volume and sound quality overall. I bought this for travel and it's nice and small and fills the entire hotel room up with sound. I might buy another one, because when two are paired via bluetooth, the sound becomes stereo. I even bought the JBL Clip 2 at the same time and compared them both in person and I was much happier with the quality of the UE Roll. Definitely recommend.I have owned a UE Roll before and loved it. But I left it behind on a trip. And this one is just as good. Solid crisp sound and I love that I can attach it anywhere with the band attachment. I can band it to the golf cart or just about anywhere and it doesn't move. The only issue is that the volcano is orange and black not red and black which is how the picture looks to me. And lava is red, right? Anyway, that is the only issue.Be careful with these refurbished UE'sMine stopped connecting to bluetooth completely and it was just pit of the return window.then you cannot find the supplier and you are stuck with a paperweight.I had a bad experience and has put me off buying anything from UEGoodGood Product. loud for the size. Amazing if your in the room with the Bluetooth more than 15 meters it cuts out. But perfect for what I want it for.Bought and for the first time in 2 months, I used in the shower. The waterproofing on this failed. Now a completely damaged unit. Avoid
